Kansas High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams – October 22

The Kansas On3 Massey Ratings Top 25 list as of Oct. 22 showed little movement compared to last week's rankings. However, Kansas high school football's top team ranked in the top 100 nationally. Here's how the state's top teams fared as the playoffs neared.

The Saints' prayers were answered all season long, resulting in a seven-game unbeaten streak. Although they earned some one-possession wins, they also dominated some opponents, including Blue Valley Northwest. St. Thomas Aquinas finished the game with 402 rushing yards against the Huskies, led by Calin Arndt's 138 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. The Saints will look to improve their record to 8-0 on the 25th against Blue Valley NorthTh.

The Jaguars are on a five-game winning streak after scoring a season-high 54 points against Shawnee Mission West. What's even more impressive is that Mill Valley's defense shut down the Vikings. Kansas high school football's best offensive team received contributions from Reggie Reece, who finished the game with 132 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Andrew Watts had 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kansas high school football's best offensive team will seek a 7-1 record against Olathe East on Oct. 25.

After a narrow loss to Mill Valley, the Trailblazers are back to winning ways with a 50-7 victory over Olathe Northwest. Those are the fewest points they have allowed this season, surpassing the 14 points they gave to Shawnee Mission East. Syre Padilla had 114 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Porter Swaim had 58 yards and a receiving TD. Gardner Edgerton can improve to 7-1 with a win over Olathe West on the 25thTh.

The Panthers extended their winning streak to seven games after defeating Maize South 51-7. Drew Kemp had 134 passing yards and three touchdowns, including 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Arieus Finley overwhelmed the Mavericks with 163 rushing yards with two touchdowns, while Da'saahn Brame had two catches. An 8-0 record is within reach if they defeat Bishop Carroll on October 25th.

The Indians remain perfect after posting their third shutout win of the season. In addition to keeping Topeka off the scoreboard, Manhattan scored 52 points, led by Jaydin Hudley's 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Kha'mario Davis added two more rushing touchdowns while Hudley added a receiving touchdown. The team with the fourth-best offense in Kansas high school football can improve to 8-0 with a win over Washburn Rural on the 25thTh.

The Jaguars extended their winning streak to six games after defeating Blue Valley 35-34. Blue Valley West scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to improve its record to 6-1. Their running game worked as Jack Cook, Wayne Carter, Tate Nagy and Tate Miller scored touchdowns. The Jaguars also got nine tackles for loss and three sacks from their defense. Blue Valley West can continue its winning streak by defeating St. James Academy on October 25th.

Despite the Tigers' point loss to Blue Valley West, there are still some commendable performances from their players. Jackson Hopper had six catches for 153 yards and three touchdowns, while Charlie Stachowiak had 86 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. After falling behind to 5-2, Blue Valley can bounce back this week with a win over Bishop Miege.

In addition to their seventh straight win, the Jaguars have earned two consecutive shutout wins against Smoky Valley and Trinity Academy. Andale was outstanding on both ends during the 2024 Kansas high school football season. They have never scored fewer than 47 points in a game and have limited six opponents to single digits. The Jaguars can improve to 8-0 this week with a road win over Hesston.

The Grizzlies improve to 6-1 by scoring a season-high 62 points against the South Titans. Jaylen Mason had 161 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Augie Fast ran wild with 216 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Griffin Baker paced the passing attack with 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Northwest will face Eisenhower on Oct. 25 looking for a 7-1 record.

The Huskies finish in the top ten despite suffering their third straight loss. Blue Valley Northwest scored just 14 points in the loss to top-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas thanks to touchdown passes from Ford Bevins and Aidan Ihm. The Huskies can end their losing streak against Blue Valley Southwest on October 25th.
