Judge, the Yankees are looking for a quick turnaround after their Game 1 loss

The New York Yankees are keeping their cool after losing Game 1 of the World Series in dramatic fashion to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“We know we have another game tomorrow, I think that’s what matters,” Aaron Judge said of his club’s ability to turn the tide, according to SNY.

“If we lose a game, the first one like that, we have another chance to tie it up before we head back to the Bronx.”

The Yankees scored a run and took a 3-2 lead early in the 10th inning. Jazz Chisholm Jr. stole second and third base to set up an RBI groundout against shortstop Anthony Volpe.

But things went south for the Yankees in the bottom half of the inning.

New York brought in Nestor Cortes, who faced Shohei Ohtani in first and second place. After inducing a flyout, he intentionally walked Mookie Betts to load the bases before Freddie Freeman's walk-off grand slam.

“It was a great game,” Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo said, per SNY.

“We talked about it afterwards. It was a great start to the World Series, and we lost. You come back tomorrow and have a chance to separate and go home with a 1-1 split.”

History doesn't favor the Yankees; According to MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince, 23 of the 29 teams that have won Game 1 of the World Series since 1995 have won the championship.

New York will send Carlos Rodón to the mound opposite Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2 to provide balance.

First pitch is scheduled for Saturday at 8:08 p.m. ET.
