Jon Stewart is standing up for fellow comedian Tony Hinchcliffe after his joke about Puerto Rico at the New York Trump rally on Sunday sparked a media storm – and he took a hilarious dig at the Harris campaign to boot.

On Monday night's “Daily Show,” Stewart presented a supercut of left-leaning MSNBC and CNN personalities' outraged reactions to the one-liner in which the well-known roast comedian and host of the “Kill Tony” podcast described the U.S. territory as a “floating island made of trash.” .”

The clips ended with “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski calling out Hinchcliffe's “extremely vile so-called jokes,” which Stewart joked was the name of his first comedy album.

“Obviously, in retrospect, having a comedian come to a political rally a week before Election Day and roast an important group of voters probably wasn't the best political decision of the campaign,” Stewart said.

“But to be fair, the guy is really just doing what he does,” he added, before underscoring his point with a montage of clips from the Tom Brady party in which Hinchcliffe makes outrageous jokes about Jews and black people might.

The highlight reel ended with Stewart feigning outrage at the jokes and sarcastically saying, “Yeah, of course.” Terrible. Boooo!” before trying to stifle his own laughter at the edgy humor.

“There's something wrong with me. I think this guy is very funny,” he said, still stifling laughter. “I’m sorry, I don’t know what to tell you,” he said helplessly, before concluding with a timely remark about the Harris campaign.

“Taking him to a rally and not letting him make hot jokes would be like taking Beyoncé to a rally and her…” he said, before bowing his head – a reference to the recent Harris rally in Texas, which featured the Grammy winner, made a brief appearance but did not perform, angering thousands of attendees.
