BOSTON – Jeremy Swayman earned his first shutout of the season as the Bruins shut out the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night at TD Garden.

After firing just 10 shots in the first 40 minutes of the game, Swayman had to come up big for the Bruins as the Kraken pushed back in the third frame and peppered him with 13 shots in the final frame.

“It’s all about finding your flow,” Swayman said. “I know what I have to do to stay in the moment and capture it one step at a time.”

Not only was Swayman flawless in net, but the field players in front of him also blocked 27 Seattle shots, including 16 in the first two periods.

“The guys in front of me did a great job blocking the middle,” Swayman said. “And (they) let me see the first shot, so that was a really good team win.”

Swayman allowed six goals on 22 shots in a game and a half last Thursday night against the Carolina Hurricanes and was taken into the game after just 30 minutes.

It was great for Swayman and his teammates to bounce back from that performance and throw back-to-back shutouts with fellow Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo.

“It gives our team a lot of momentum,” Swayman said. “That’s something I’ve never shared with another goalie (the back-to-back shutouts). Korpi, big hat to him for paving the way.”

The Bruins won their second straight game for the second time this season. The Black and Gold's first consecutive game victory came as they defeated the Montreal Canadiens and Los Angeles Kings in the first week of the season.

“It’s just really special to see our team come together and not take no for an answer,” Swayman said. “The way we pounced on them early on I think set the tone for the whole game.

“…It was a good feeling in the locker room knowing we weren't playing at our level yet. There’s so much room for improvement and I think our mindset at the moment is to make sure we do the best we can every day and it’s really great to see the boys being rewarded for that.”

The Bruins will look to build on the wins and extend their streak to three games when they face the Maple Leafs on Tuesday night in Toronto.

“I think the way our defense blocked the middle and made sure they had to work for it if they wanted to get a grade A (chance),” Swayman said. “You saw the blocked shots tonight, the effort from the guys, and I think the offense had a lot of close chances as well. There is again a lot to build on, but there is still a lot of work to do and that is our attitude for the future.”
