In the latest episode of the Think like a monk of the author On purpose In the podcast, released on Monday, October 14, he chatted with the “Wild Ones” singer about the lasting effects of childhood trauma, overcoming inner demons and addiction, and the transformative power of love and healing.

Among other things, he spoke about his estranged relationships with his mother, who struggled with mental health issues and drug addiction, and his father, who struggled with alcoholism, and the influence music had on him. He was also asked about an altercation he had when he was 15 that landed him behind bars.

“You went to prison when you were 15 for an armed robbery. Have you ever thought about it, or maybe you've even met them, but have you ever thought about what you would say to that person if you met them again?” Shetty asked the “Save Me” artist.

In response, Jelly Roll admitted, “That’s the best question I’ve ever been asked. I've been avoiding this question hoping because I don't know how to answer it, Jay.”

“I really want to have a conversation with them. I was thinking about reaching out,” he said, further elaborating on his feelings behind the ordeal. “I would just ask them to understand, I would just ask them to forgive me because there is no excuse for this.”

He became vulnerable and continued: “The first responsibility is, no matter how old I was, I had no business taking anything away from anyone. The world owed me just the right I had enough for me to come and get your things. Just that.” a terrible, terrible way to look at life and people. What a terrible way to interact with Earth.

All in all, the 39-year-old was adamant that he would sincerely apologize.

“I would first like to apologize for that. Just, just a responsibility is what I value so much now, Jazz. “I just look at them now and go, man, I, and then I would hope that they would show me a little mercy when I explained to them that I was 15,” Jelly Roll said.
