James Van Der Beek's wife Kimberly shares sweet message after revealing he has cancer

Kimberly Van Der Beek is in her husband's corner.

James Van Der Beek's wife left a lovely comment on the actor's Instagram post over the weekend revealing his colon cancer diagnosis.

“I love you, baby,” the 42-year-old gushed.

Hours before the 47-year-old “Dawson's Creek” alum went public with his health update, Kimberly tagged him in an Instagram Story upload about Northern Cardinals.

The graphic called the birds “romantic” and explained that they “mate for life, travel together, sing before nesting, and feed each other seeds beak-to-beak during courtship.”

Alongside the post, Kimberly wrote: “Hello baby @vanderjames.”

She and the “Varsity Blues” star have been married since August 2010 and have six children together – Olivia (14), Joshua (12), Annabel (10), Emilia (8), Gwendolyn (6) and Jeremiah (2).

James included pictures of the little ones, which he had previously “dealed with privately,” in his shocking announcement on Sunday.

He wrote: “I'm fine and feeling strong. It was quite a start and I’ll tell you more when I’m ready.”

James noted that he received treatment “with greater focus than ever before, focusing on his overall health.”

He concluded: “We go along with it, taking every surprise as a signpost pointing us to a greater destiny than we would have discovered without divine intervention.” Please know that my family and I share all the love and really appreciate the support.”

The “Dancing With the Stars” alum lives with his family in Texas, where they moved from Los Angeles in 2020.

At the time, James provided his followers with a list of reasons why they had “landed” in the state – including that his children couldn't fly a kite at the park near their Beverly Hills home.

“Sometimes a fuller life begins with an empty house,” he wrote on Instagram before they headed to their new property.

“We're leaving Los Angeles incredibly grateful for all the friends and memories we've made here,” James gushed. “Off to the next big adventure! ❤️😊”
