Jacob Soboroff meets Paul Rudd during a live hit

Actor Paul Rudd made an unexpected cameo during an MSNBC live hit from a polling station in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Voters stood in line for hours on the campus of Temple University in a city that is home to the vice president Kamala Harris hopes for a large participation. Harris held four rallies on Monday in Pennsylvania, a state that could be crucial in her race against the former president Donald Trump.

MSNBC reporter Jacob Soboroff reported from Temple University, where he interviewed voters who said they had waited in line for two hours. He noted that a table had been set up to provide snacks and drinks to those waiting.

As he finished his report he threw it back Deadline: White House host Nicole Wallace.

“Two things,” she said. “If the people distributing snacks are accepting donations for their snack supply, please get me a Venmo and I will give them a Venmo to restock the snack line.”

Soboroff looked off camera and shouted, “Nicolle Wallace wants your Venmo, guys.”

As Wallace began speaking again, Soboroff appeared distracted and began walking down the voting line:

SOBOROFF: Nicolle, wait a second. Sorry to interrupt, but I think there's someone here who I heard came out when he heard there was a long line here. Here he is. Hey, Paul! Paul! I'm live with Nicolle Wallace on MSNBC. Paul Rudd just turned up, Nicolle, because he heard the line was so long. Paul, what got you out here?

RUDD: I just wanted to give people water. They wait in line for a long time and it's a wonderful thing that all these young people are voting.

SOBOROFF: For two hours, they say, some of these young people stand in line.

RUDD: That's impressive.

SOBOROFF: When you heard that, did you say, “I have to get out of here right now.” I have to get to that line”?

RUDD: We did a lot here in Pennsylvania today. And yes, we wanted to tell these students that they are doing really great things.

SOBOROFF: Nice to see you. I appreciate being here. How do you feel about the choice?

RUDD: I feel good handing out some water.

SOBOROFF: I'll let you do it. Nicolle Wallace wanted her Venmo. Get your Venmo because she wants to drop off some water too.

RUDD: I appreciate that.

SOBOROFF: Thank you, Paul.
