    Jack Flaherty delivers 7 shutouts as lineup delivers complete performance – Dodgers Digest

    Aside from the Mets themselves, perhaps the Dodgers' biggest challenge heading into Game 1 was not to repeat 2021 and let the NLDS win over the Padres eclipse and emerge just as focused for the NLCS.

    Things started well as the Dodgers took an early lead in the first game and continued to build on it as the game progressed and were given time to do so Jack FlahertyThe best start as a Dodger came at the right time.

    Coming back from an injury Kodai Senga Started Game 1 for the Mets against the Phillies essentially as the opener, throwing just 31 pitches in two innings. He was relatively effective in this game, but fortunately he struggled today.

He moved on in the 4th, and in a potentially good sign for the rest of the series, the Dodgers got him. Enrique Hernandez singled, Gavin Lux batted the left-handed hitter so he grounded out a ball, and then Edman hit a single to score Enrique and make it 4-0. It didn't mean that for long as Ohtani got into the lane and smacked a ball off the wall to right for Edman to single and advance to second on an error that made it 5-0. After a groundout by Mookie, Freddie came through with an ankle and hit Ohtani to make it 6-0.

    Peterson was able to avoid a leadoff walk in the 5th to end his outing, but it was a positive sign for the bats.

    Luckily, on the other hand, there were no updates as nothing happened.

    In his playoff debut for the Dodgers, Jack Flaherty was mediocre and got into emotional arguments Manny Machado. Today he was in control of everything and managed to get through the first nine batters, retiring them all.

    Flaherty capped it off with a flawless 12-pitch inning in the seventh, aided by Kevin Kiermaier He made a good play after coming on in defense.

    They desperately needed Flaherty to go deep to create the best Game 2 situation, and he did just that and more: 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K, 98 pitches.

    After Peterson got out after the 5th, that was it Danny Young for the Mets pen in the 6th, resulting in a clean 11-pitch inning. He continued in the 7th, got one out and issued a walk beforehand Jose Butto stepped in and got the last two outs on eight pitches.

    For the Dodgers, the pen only needed two innings, and Daniel Hudson I had some difficulty starting the 8th. He started with a walk to Iglesias, gave up a lineout and then a single to Alvarez. However, he beat the top of the leaderboard with a lineout and a strikeout.

    Finishing things off with a big lead was Ben Casparius makes his playoff debut. He got a pair of pop outs and then a strikeout to close the door.

    The NLCS is now 1-0 against the Dodgers. Great start, but just one game.

    Since the ALCS begins tomorrow and Monday Night Football exists, the next game in the series will be played on a Monday at 10:08 a.m./1:08 p.m. PT/4:08 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FOX and FS1.
