Is “SNL” on tonight? Season 50, Episode 5 Host, Musical Guest

Saturday Night Live is back tonight with a new episode featuring a first musical guest after the show re-aired an old episode on October 27th.

The November 2nd edition of the long-running comedy sketch show – the last before Election Day – will see comedian John Mulaney return as host for the sixth time, with MTV Award-winning singer-songwriter Chappell Roan performing live.

Who plays Donald Trump and Kamala Harris?

Play the vice president SNLThe 50th season stars actress Maya Rudolph and the former president is played by James Austin Johnson.

Rudolph has long portrayed Harris' character, appearing as a series of iconic characters on the series between 2000 and 2007. She then returned to the series again in 2021.

Even before he joined, Johnson drew attention for his impression of Trump SNL in 2021 by posting videos on his social media accounts.

Actor Alec Baldwin played Trump during the Republican's first presidential bid and then during his presidency. Baldwin's performance earned him an Emmy in 2017 and two additional nominations in 2018 and 2021.

I'm coming back SNL This season, the actor played Fox News' Bret Baier to debate Maya Rudolph as Harris in an Oct. 19 episode, parodying her interview from last month.

What time is SNL on tonight?

SNL returns tonight after the October 26 show was a repeat of an old episode hosted by Jean Smart.

Smart's episode first aired on September 28 and featured the host singing an adapted version of Cole Porter's song “I Happen to Like New York” and playing a Real Housewife.

Today's episode is hosted by John Mulaney, a writer for SNL from 2008 to 2013, starts at 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC, and can be watched the next day on Peacock.

This would be 10:30 p.m. Central Time, 9:30 p.m. Mountain Time and 8:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

Who will be hosting in the next few weeks?

For the first episode after the presidential election, airing November 7, it's the turn of Grammy-nominated actor and comedian Bill Burr.

Burr, who is currently touring with his comedy act “Bill Burr Live,” has previously hosted SNLpresents an episode with musical guest Jack White on October 10, 2020.

The following week, Charlie XCX will host the show for the first time on November 16th.

The singer, whose latest album brat peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 chart and was actually released on SNL also before.

She was a musical guest for the first time in December 2014 and appeared in an episode with host Oscar Isaac in March 2022.

Who are the upcoming musical guests?

The musical guest at Mulaney's show on Saturday will be pop singer Chappell Roan. This is the first time Roan has joined SNL Crew.

The singer is best known for her song “Good Luck Babe!” was recently named Best New Artist at the 2024 MTV Awards.

Joining Burr as the musical guest on the November 6 episode is Michael Todd Gordon, better known by his stage name Mk.gee.

Mk.gee rose to fame by directing his own film Two Star & the Dream Police.

It was reported by Rolling Stone that the singer was recommended by Eric Clapton as the smartest new guitarist ever.

Charlie XCX will appear as both host and musical guest on November 16th. She recently shared a promotional image for this episode with the words “oh f***.”
