Is Cabin Alone really coming to Disney+ or is the Home Alone sequel starring Macaulay Culkin as Kevin a fake?

Rumors have been circulating that Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O'Hara could be returning for a brand new Home Alone film.

The franchise consists of six fairytale-festive films, two of which focus on the character Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin – unfortunately a seventh film was debunked as hearsay.

Who is Macaulay Culkin and who did he play in Home Alone?

Macaulay rose to fame when he played Kevin McCallister in the first Home Alone film in 1990.

He was only ten years old at the time.

The film, about how eight-year-old Kevin is forgotten on a family vacation, puts many of us in the Christmas spirit.

Kevin is abandoned and is left alone to protect his home from bandits Harry and Marv while his family tries to return to him for Christmas.

Spoiler alert – Kevin's mother Kate, played by Catherine O'Hara, manages to get home to her son in time for Christmas.

Then the whole family gets together again and everything is fine.

Macaulay also returned for Home Alone (1992), but although the franchise continued, this was the end of his Home Alone run.

What is Cabin Alone?

On November 4, 2024, @YodaBBYABY shared a poster on Facebook promoting a new Home Alone movie titled “Cabin Alone.”

The film poster features Macaulay and his “mother” Catherine.

The article tells a story in which Kevin and Kate plan a Christmas vacation in a remote cabin, but end up being threatened by old adversaries Harry and Marv.

The synopsis states that in the film, the mother-son combination joins forces to defend the cabin.

It says: “With snowy traps, outlandish pranks and high-risk holiday antics, they transform the quiet cabin into a thrilling battlefield that will have you laughing and cheering.”

The caption then states that Cabin Alone will be released on Disney+ in December 2024.

However, a closer look at the Facebook page shows that all of the posts are completely false.

YODA BBY ABY explains: “I’m just here to eat frogs, lift stones and be satirical.”

“The site is 100% satire and fake news.”

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely that Macaulay or Catherine will return for a new Home Alone film.

The Home Alone Tour

It's not all bad news, however.

In September 2024, it was announced that Macaulay would begin a Home Alone tour on Saturday November 30.

The tour begins in Buffalo, New York and continues with 14 additional shows in the United States as follows:

• Erie, Pennsylvania – December 1st
• Louisville, Kentucky – December 3rd
• Evansville, Indiana – December 4th
• Indianapolis, Indiana – December 5th
• Rosemont, Illinois – December 6th
• Milwaukee, Wisconsin – December 7th
• Detroit, Michigan – December 8th
• Akron, Ohio – December 10th
• Johnstown, Pennsylvania – December 11th
• Reading, Pennsylvania – December 12th
• Newark, New Jersey – December 13th
• Wallingford, Connecticut – December 14th
• Medford, Massachusetts – December 15 (afternoon and evening show)

The series is called Home Alone: ​​A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin.

The tour summary states: “Relive the iconic scenes and heartwarming moments of Home Alone on the big screen, then delve deep into the stories and behind-the-scenes insights with Macaulay Culkin himself.

“Hear about his experiences on set, his favorite memories from filming, and his thoughts on why this film has become such a beloved holiday classic.”

The tour officially ends on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
