If Bank of America fails, you will see empty account balances

First it was Spotify, then Verizon, then PlayStation, and now it's apparently Bank of America's turn to suffer a default this week. Some customers reported problems accessing their bank accounts on Wednesday, with balances showing $0 or “–” instead of the actual amount.

We verified that the bank's app is showing customers the notification “Accounts temporarily unavailable” and “Some accounts and/or funds are temporarily unavailable,” as previously reported by CNN. Some people have reported that their accounts are working or gaining intermittent access to their information, and it is unclear how many people may have been affected. In July, Bank of America announced that 58 million customers were using their “digital capabilities to manage their financial lives” and that they connected a record 23.4 billion times last year.

There is no information about what might be causing the problem or when it might be fixed. The edge has reached out to Bank of America and we will update this article when we receive a response.
