Nebraska volleyball begins its momentum in the Pacific Northwest tonight at No. 12 Oregon. First serve is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. CST. The Huskers are 4-3 against the Ducks, but this is the first time the two teams have met in Eugene. Oregon won its final match against Nebraska and defeated the Big Red in five sets in the regional semifinals in Louisville. NU coach John Cook vividly remembers then-freshman Mimi Colyer playing and getting 26 kills in the game.

A former Nebraska softball coach has died after a battle with cancer. Mark Watt served as a volunteer coach at NU after a 25-year coaching career at the high school level. Between Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln Southwest, Watt's teams earned 579 wins and four Class A state championships. Nebraska head coach Rhonda Revelle called Watt a “legendary coach, master teacher, incredible mentor and role model, true friend, loyal and loving” on social media today Father and husband” and added: “The world is a better place because of YOU.” The Red Team loves you very much. We will carry your spirit with us.”

Nebraska Wrestling opens the 2024-25 season at No. 3 in the InterMat rankings for both tournaments and duals. The Huskers trail Big Ten colleagues Penn State and Iowa in both cases. Other Big Ten teams in the top 10 include Ohio and Michigan for the tournament standings and Ohio State and Minnesota for the dual standings. NU opens the season Friday at home against Utah Valley.

Nebraska men's basketball is 1-0 and looks to stay spotless this Saturday. Coach Fred Hoiberg met with the media this morning after some intensive training and film sessions.

Nebraska women's basketball today announced a time change for an upcoming game. The Huskers will face the South Dakota Coyotes on November 16th at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. The game was originally scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CST, but was moved to 7:00 p.m. CST due to Nebraska football kicking off that afternoon against USC at 3:00 p.m. CST. Another change to the game will come via television as Nebraska volleyball will be on the Big Ten Network at this new time, meaning the women's basketball game will likely move to B1G+.

Also today, Nebraska women's basketball senior Alexis Markowski was named to the Los Angeles Athletic Club's preseason top 50 women's watch list for the John R. Wooden Award. Selected through a preseason poll of national college basketball experts, the list consists of 50 student-athletes who are early front-runners for one of the most prestigious honors in college basketball – the Wooden Award All-America Team and Most Outstanding Player Award. She joins a dozen other Big Ten Conference players on the list.
