The first taste of Iowa women's basketball this season comes Wednesday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, where Iowa hosts Missouri Western at 6:30 p.m. BTN+ will stream the game.

While most exhibition games for Power Four teams are nothing more than a dress rehearsal, this game has some significance for Iowa. Jan Jensen's debut as head coach and the questions that need to be answered around the rotation make Wednesday's issue important, even if the chance of a win probably won't be great.

The Hawkeyes won both exhibition games last season, defeating DePaul at the crossover in Kinnick (94-72) and NAIA member Clarke University at home (122-49). Wednesday's game likely won't be as one-sided against Division II Missouri Western, which finished 25-6 last season and reached the NCAA Tournament. But the Hawkeyes should get plenty of chances to work out problems before next Wednesday's season opener against Northern Illinois.
