    Here are the 22 Lafayette Area volleyball teams in the LHSAA State Tourney

    The moment high school volleyball fans at 337 have been waiting for is finally here: the 2024 LHSAA Volleyball State Tournament.

    All those hours in the gym led to a chance to compete for a state title. On Nov. 4, the five-division brackets were released by the LHSAA, and 22 teams from Lafayette Parish and surrounding areas made the cut.

    Southside, Lafayette, St. Thomas More, North Vermilion, Comeaux, Cecilia, Teurlings Catholic, Beau Chene, Iota, Eunice, Rayne, St. Martinville, Notre Dame, Porte Barre, Catholic-New Iberia, Lafayette Chrisitan Academy, Ascension Episcopal, Vermilion Catholic, Westminster Christian – Lafayette, St. Edmund and Westminster Christian-Opeoluasas advanced to this year's state tournament.

    The highest seeded area team is St. Thomas More, which was ranked No. 1 in Division II after an excellent regular season. The Cougars finished with an overall record of 33-3 and won the Division II, District 4 championship. The Cougars were the only area team to earn a No. 1 ranking, with LCA and Westminister Christian-Opelousas taking the next highest ranking, No. 2 in the Classes Division IV and Division V.

    Playoff games between the two districts begin November 6th for Divisions V, IV and III and November 7th for Divisions I and II. The tournament runs through November 16th. All games will be played at the Cajundome. Here you will find all the Bi-District games that the region's teams will participate, broken down by division.
