Toady's game against Brighton and Hove Albion was a struggle to say the least. The Reds were 1-0 down at half-time and were lucky it wasn't even more.

Fabian Huzlers' team dominated the ball and without the intervention of Caoimhin Kelleher it should have been 2-0.

Arne Slot finally turned the game around in the second half by ensuring that his players dominated the ball and took advantage of their chances.

However, before the break, the Dutch coach suffered an injury to Ibrahima Konate, who has been arguably the best defender in the Premier League this season.

The Frenchman went down following a corner and on replays it looked like Virgil van Dijk was on his arm after he fell to the ground due to a challenge with a Brighton defender.

Although it was a worrying injury, his replacement Joe Gomez put in an excellent performance, dominating in the air and not letting the Seagulls get down.

Liverpool ended up winning the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, but many fans took to social media to see if there were any updates on Konate.

After the final whistle, Slot gave an update on the 25-year-old defender, however it wasn't the good news people were hoping for.

“A lot of pain at half-time, disappointment that he had to leave” Slot said after the game via LFC Transfer Room on X.

“Konata? I don't know yet, I haven't been to the hospital yet. He may not even have to leave yet, it’s always too early to say just after the game.”e.”

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it just hurts after Virgil stepped on him, but given Gomez's performance today, Slot can rest easy knowing he can trust the England international when needed.
