Harris will give a speech after losing to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election

Washington- Vice President Kamala Harris will speak at Howard University in Washington, DC on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET after she is there defeated by Former President Donald Trump in the race for the White House.

CBS News estimates that Harris received 222 electoral votes, fewer than the 276 collected by Trump, her Republican opponent. Trump exceeded that 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency just after 5:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday after battleground states were locked down Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania And Wisconsin.

Harris was expected to give an election night address to supporters at Howard, the historically black college from which she graduated in 1986, but never made it to her alma mater when the results were announced. Instead, campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond sent the assembled crowd home and said Harris would speak on Wednesday.

Election Day on November 5 capped a chaotic and historic presidential election cycle that spanned two elections assassination Try against Trump and was shocked by President Biden's sudden announcement in July that he would do so Exit, the race after a disastrous debate performance at the end of June.
