Google CEO Sundar Pichai to employees in internal memo: Whoever wins the US elections, "...let's remember the role..."

This follows allegations of bias from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who claims Google is suppressing positive news about him. Pichai emphasized Google's commitment to providing accurate election-related resources and highlighted Google's global efforts to support elections.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly told Google and YouTube employees ahead of US Election Day to “ensure our platforms provide voters with high-quality, reliable information.” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has accused Google of bias. As The Washing Post first reported, the CEO sent an internal memo to his employee. In the memo obtained by The Verge, Pichai said: “We should be proud of our work and also of our teams' efforts to keep campaigns secure, provide accurate information about where and how to vote, and provide digital advertising solutions.” Campaigns.” Pichai also stated that “Al has given us a profound opportunity to make progress” toward making information widely available.

Hello Googlers,
Tomorrow is Election Day here and many across the United States will go to the polls to vote for everything from school boards to judges to Congress to the president.
Teams at Google and YouTube have been working hard to ensure that our platforms provide voters with high-quality, reliable information, just as we have done in so many other elections around the world – in fact, dozens of countries have held big, hot elections This year we have participated in elections from France to India to the United Kingdom to Mexico and many more, with well over a billion people voting in 2024.
We should be proud of our work, but also of our teams' efforts to keep campaigns secure, provide accurate information about where and how to vote, and provide digital advertising solutions for campaigns. Thank you to everyone who is working around the clock on this effort throughout the campaign season and as votes are being counted.
As with other elections, the result will be a major topic of conversation in living rooms and other places around the world. And of course the result will have important consequences.
Whoever voters entrust with their trust, let us remember the role we play at work, through the products we make, and as a company: to be a trusted source of information for people of all backgrounds and faiths. We will and must maintain this. With this in mind, it is important that everyone continues to adhere to our Community Guidelines and Personal Political Activities Policy.
Beyond Election Day, we will continue to work to organize the world's information and make it widely accessible and usable. Al has given us a profound opportunity to advance in this mission, building great products and partnerships, driving innovation, and making meaningful contributions to the national and local economy. Our business is at its best when we focus on it.
Thanks Sundar
