Kirill Kaprizov had three points (one goal, two assists) and Mats Zuccarello and Matt Boldy each had a goal and an assist for Minnesota (1-0-1). Marc-Andre Fleury made 30 saves in his season debut.

“I liked our game and our mindset, the details of our game a lot more than the first one,” Wild coach John Hynes said. “So we have to build on that. We didn't get them both. We have the right thing. You have to keep winning. You have to keep collecting points. We have to, but I think everything is determined by the mindset and the style of play. And I saw a lot, a lot of good tonight that I think we can continue with.”

It was the start of Fleury's 21st NHL season, in which he had only one goalie behind Martin Brodeur (22) in most seasons.

Zuccarello scored his 200th career goal to make it 1-0 at 9:22 of the first period when Kaprizov shot Zuccarello through the slot from behind the net.

“Some games are more difficult than others,” Zuccarello said. “Some games you create. Maybe we should have scored a few more goals and gotten the win.”

Boldy extended the lead to 2-0 at 1:06 of the second period by firing a shot from the high slot that bounced off Daccord's pads.

Eberle responded 40 seconds later at 1:46 by finishing off a loose puck from deep to make it 2-1. It was his 300th career goal. He scored his second goal of the night to make it 2-2 at 8:15, deflecting in a backdoor shot from Andre Burakovsky.

“We talked about scoring more goals and scoring more goals in a lot of different ways,” Bylsma said. “Power play is one of the ways to become a team that scores better goals. We got it done there tonight, but you also have to get it done across your entire lineup and you have to get it done in a lot of different ways.”
