Fortnite turns the clock back again. After a few teases, Epic is about to usher in a new era in the battle royale game called The Remix: Chapter 2 – and it's not just looking back to the past, but incorporating music in an ambitious new way.

The start of the remix season was preceded by a musical event, similar to the Eminem concert, which heralded a new era Fortnite. This time, Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice took the stage – both in-game and IRL in New York's Times Square – and once the season begins, the musical aspects will go a step further.

As the name suggests, the new mini-season brings back many of the characters, gameplay elements and locations from the game's second chapter, released in 2019. Chapter 2 was particularly notable because it deleted the original battle royale map to start fresh for the first time. (The Chapter 2 map itself would be swapped in 2021, when it was flipped in dramatic fashion.) The month-long event will change things up weekly, with new elements centered around a different musician. Snoop Dogg comes first, followed by Eminem, Ice Spice and finally Juice WRLD.

The remix version of Chapter 2 begins on November 2nd and runs until November 30th, with Epic announcing a “Finale” event at the conclusion. A new cosmetic item is also introduced: Sneakers, so you can put a pair of Nikes on Peely the banana.
