Flau'jae Johnson wows fans with insane LSU show performance

With superstar and reigning SEC Player of the Year Angel Reese now in the WNBA, there were many questions in the women's college basketball community about how the LSU Tigers would fare this season.

In addition to the loss of Reese, star guard Hailey Van Lith transferred from LSU to TCU. Therefore, the Tigers would have to rely on guard Flau'jae Johnson to provide the offense this season.

And if there were concerns about Johnson leading Kim Mulkey's LSU squad this season, those concerns were put to rest Thursday.

During No. 7 LSU's exhibition game against Xavier (NO) on Thursday, Johnson finished the game with 30 points on 13-for-19 shooting and also grabbed 10 rebounds.

It's worth noting that Xavier (NO) isn't as competitive as LSU in most games this season, and the game's eye-popping final score of 114-53 makes that clear.

But it's still great for LSU fans to see Johnson start this season with a bang β€” and they're making that clear with their reactions to the appearance on social media.

β€œShe looks like the first choice,” one X user wrote.

Another fan added, “Ultimately, Flau'Jae will be a generational talent.”

β€œTheir game was already complete, but is still becoming so complete

“The pace, the feeling, the determination with every rep – it's different,” wrote a third.

Johnson and her Tigers team have one more exhibition game on October 30th before their regular season begins on November 4th against Eastern Kentucky. However, Johnson appears to be in form by midseason.
