From high up in the sky, Bioreconstruction captured another round of aerial photos of the construction of the Universal Epic Universe on October 24, 2024. The new theme park will open on May 22, 2025 in Orlando, Florida. (New to Epic Universe? Check out our beginner's guide.)

Today we're checking out the construction progress for Epic Universe's Super Nintendo World, where Bowser has officially arrived.

Super Nintendo World refresher

Epic Universe's Super Nintendo World will consist of two different areas. Super Mario Land will include the indoor ride Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge and the indoor/outdoor ride Yoshi's Adventure. Next door, Donkey Kong Country will feature the Mine-Cart Madness indoor/outdoor roller coaster.

Super Nintendo World is one of the five worlds of Epic Universe. The others are Celestial Park, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.

Bowser arrives in the Epic Universe

For the past few weeks, construction workers have been shaping the plaster that will form Bowser's distinctive face at the future entrance to Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge in Epic Universe's Super Nintendo World. The ride takes place inside Bowser's castle and utilizes augmented reality (AR) effects as guests take part in a classic Mario Kart race. (Incidentally, the video game is currently the focus of a new collection of McDonald's Happy Meal toys.)

Compare the progress above to what Bowser looked like during Bioreconstruct's previous flight just a few weeks earlier, in early October, in the photo below.
