When are polling stations closed across the US on Election Day?

How late can you vote in the USA?

Here's a state-by-state breakdown of when different polling locations will close. However, you should also contact your state or local elections office for the most current information and location-specific hours.

6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST): Parts of Indiana and Kentucky.

7:00 p.m. EST:
Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina and Vermont, as well as western parts of Indiana and Kentucky. Parts of Alabama, Florida and New Hampshire also close at this hour.

7:30 p.m. EST: North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia. Parts of New Hampshire.

8:00 p.m. EST: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Washington, DC

Partial closures in Florida, Kansas, Michigan, New Hampshire, North and South Dakota and Texas.

8:30 p.m. EST: Arkansas.

9pm EST:
Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Partial closures in Kansas, North and South Dakota and Texas.

10:00 p.m. EST: Montana, Nevada, Utah. Partial closures in Idaho and Oregon.

11:00 PM EST: California and Washington. Partial closures in Idaho and Oregon.

12pm EST: Hawaii. Partial closures in Alaska.

1am EST: Partial closures in Alaska.

*States split into multiple time zones include Idaho and Oregon, split into Mountain and Pacific Time; Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee, split between Eastern and Central time; and Kansas, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, and Texas, divided into central and mountain periods.
