Early Voting in New Orleans: What's on the Ballot for November 5th | Local elections

Early voting for the Nov. 5 presidential election begins Friday and runs through Oct. 29. Polling stations are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m

Polling stations will be closed on Sunday, October 20th and Sunday, October 27th.

You can find all early voting locations here.

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is November 1st at 4:30 p.m. Applications can be made online at voterportal.sos.la.gov by selecting “Request a Mail-in Ballot” or in person at your local voter office. The deadline to return a completed ballot is November 4th by 4:30 p.m. Voters who cannot meet the mail-in voting deadline can still vote in person on Election Day.

On Tuesday, November 5th, polling stations will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. All voters in line at 8 p.m. have the right to vote.

Change the statutes for employees at will

So that office workers who work for the mayor or council can be hired and fired at will depending on their performance.

Stonebridge Subdivision Package Fee

Approval of an annual security package fee for 10 years beginning in 2025. The fee, which would be collected by the Stonebridge Subdivision Special District, would be $499.09 per package in 2025, increasing at a rate of 2.5% per year.

Affordable Housing Charter Amendments

Establish a housing trust fund and allocate 2% of the city's general fund annually to a trust fund to ensure the availability of affordable housing in New Orleans.

Amendment to the Workers' Rights Charter

Add a “Charter of Workers’ Rights” to the Charter, affirming that New Orleans residents have the right to job security and fair compensation and benefits.

Lakeshore Crime Prevention District Package Fee

Authorizing the Lakeshore Crime Prevention District to impose an annual security fee not to exceed $420 per package per year for four years beginning in 2025.

Mid-City Security District Package Fee

Authorizing the Mid-City Security District to charge an annual flat fee per parcel for security expenses for eight years beginning in 2025. Amounts shall not exceed the following: $195 per vacant lot, single-family home, two-family home, three-family home, four-family home, townhouse or condominium; $600 per lot with 5-9 rental units; $1,000 per lot for 10-19 rental units; $2,000 per parcel with 20-39 rental units; $4,000 per parcel with more than 40 rental units; $150 per package subject to La. Const. Art. VII, Section 18; or $500 per commercial parcel, provided that any parcel used for commercial and residential purposes shall be considered commercial if it consists thereof
