Detroit Pistons reveal starting lineup against Boston Celtics

One night after battling the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road, the Detroit Pistons face the Boston Celtics for the second time in back-to-back sets.

Once again, the Pistons assume that only two players will be missing.

As expected, Ausar Thompson, a second-year veteran, was ruled out as he works to gain clearance from the NBA to return after being suspended late last season.

As for rookie second-rounder Bobi Klintman, his debut remains on hold. Although he managed to play in Summer League and compete in training camp with the Pistons, Klintman suffered a setback just before the team opened its preseason. Klintman missed the entire preseason and has yet to be cleared to make his regular-season debut.

Aside from those two, the Pistons are healthy everywhere for the matchup against the Celtics.

On Friday night, the Pistons played with the same lineup as their opening game against the Indiana Pacers. The trend will continue Saturday night against Boston.

On Friday against Cleveland, the Pistons got another outstanding goal from starting point guard Cade Cunningham. He scored 33 points in 35 minutes of play. Aside from a game-high nine turnovers on Friday, Cunningham has had an impressive start to the year.

Cunningham's backcourt partner Jaden Ivey also had a good performance. In 29 minutes, Ivey scored 22 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Against Boston, the Pistons will need the help of their experienced offseason additions. Tobias Harris' 13-point debut was followed by a 10-point performance against the Cavs on Friday. As for forward Tim Hardaway Jr., he has bounced back after struggling with his shot in preseason. The Pistons will continue to look for ways to get him open spots.
