David Pastrnak feels this with the Bruins after the loss to the Stars

After the Bruins lost their third straight game, head coach Jim Montgomery told reporters that “the attitude of the players is not based on the moment, but on the results.”

David Pastrnak agreed that after losing consecutive games, players start “squeezing” their sticks instead of focusing on the details. The Bruins' star forward admitted it's up to the team to turn things around.

“We can still say it’s still early (in the season), but we definitely know we still need to get a lot better,” Pastrnak told reporters in an audio recording provided by the team. “I think that's why you can see some frustration in the team because we expect the highest standard with the Spoked-B. It's an honor, so the standards here are high. So you can definitely see the frustration, but it’s up to us, all the guys and managers, to get it under control, focus on the details and continue the winning streak.”

In Thursday night's 5-2 loss to the Dallas Stars, the Bruins increased their league-leading penalty total with five minor penalties. The Stars benefited from three power play goals. Pastrnak was in the penalty area for two of Dallas' three goals. He committed seven violations in eight games this season.

“No question. I definitely took two penalties,” Pastrnak said for having too many violations in the loss. “To be honest, I can’t remember taking as many penalties in my career as I have this season. … I put the team in a short-handed situation twice in one game. I definitely got too many penalties.”
