Dak Prescott's scramble leads to a wild Rico Dowdle touchdown for the Cowboys

ATLANTA – It will go down as running back Rico Dowdle's 3-yard touchdown catch, but for the Dallas Cowboys it was so much more.

On second-and-goal, quarterback Dak Prescott was nearly sacked by Arnold Ebiketie and then ducked away from Grady Jarrett. After regaining his footing, Prescott ran a pass into the end zone to an open Dowdle, who wobbled the ball several times before fully securing the catch on his back after taking a hit from cornerback Dee Alford.

The touchdown cut the Falcons' lead to 14-10 with 4:01 left in the first half.

Rarely has a 3-yard touchdown catch been so difficult, but this was the 3-4 Cowboys' season.

On the drive, Prescott managed a 22-yard scramble for a first down. He started the season with 24 yards rushing on Sunday. Receivers CeeDee Lamb and Dowdle had runs of 18 and 15 yards, respectively. The Cowboys started the season Sunday without a run of 15 yards or more. They had three on this trip.
