Dak Prescott told reporters that he and his teammates need to “look in the mirror” to improve after the Dallas Cowboys' lopsided 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, via Pat Doney of NBC DFW.

“Very frustrating… I don't want to say I have to play perfect, but I have to get better… We're 3-3, six games below us, a long season ahead of us… We have to look in the mirror and figure out how we can be… pic.twitter.com/aeCjRn0gJj

“We have to look in the mirror and figure out how we can get better for this team,” Prescott said.

However, he added that he's “not a guy to hit the panic button.”

Prescott finished 17 of 33 for 178 yards and two interceptions without recording a touchdown. He was fired four times.

The Cowboys didn't give him much help either, rushing for 53 yards as a team on 17 attempts. Dallas' defense struggled to stop Jared Goff and Detroit's offensive attack, giving up 492 yards and allowing the Lions 27 first downs.

Prescott continued to take responsibility for his performance.

The Cowboys were missing several key defensive starters against Detroit such as Micah Parsons, DaRon Bland and DeMarcus Lawrence. However, that doesn't excuse the string of poor performances on the offensive side of the ball.

After Dallas had the league's top-scoring offense with an average of 29.9 points per game in the 2023 season, Dallas is only averaging 21 points per game in the six weeks before the start of the 2024 season.

Prescott has completed 63.4 percent of his throws for 1,602 yards to start the season, but he has thrown eight touchdown passes compared to six interceptions. He also fumbled the ball four times in six starts after recording four fumbles throughout his 2023 season.

The Cowboys need to improve in their upcoming Week 7 bye before facing the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8.
