Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs confronts reporter over social media post after loss to 49ers

Trevon Diggs was heated Sunday night and didn't hesitate to confront a local reporter in the back hallways of Levi's Stadium.

Shortly after the Cowboys lost 30-24 to the San Francisco 49ers, Diggs came out of the locker room to confront WFAA's Mike Leslie about a post he made on social media during the game. Diggs was still in his notepads, so he must have seen the post as soon as he entered the locker room.

The problem apparently stemmed from the 49ers' 43-yard reception by George Kittle in the third quarter. While defending elsewhere in the game, Diggs appeared not to notice Kittle and inadvertently cleared a path for him to the 1-yard line. This big win by San Francisco ultimately resulted in a touchdown that gave the 49ers the lead.

“What did you get from this whole piece?” Diggs asked Leslie angrily in front of a crowd of other reporters near her locker room door. “That’s what you get out of it? That’s what you got from this whole piece?”

“We can talk about it more,” Leslie replied.

“We can talk about deez nuts,” Diggs yelled back before heading back to the locker room.

Leslie briefly touched on the interaction on social media.

Diggs did not speak further to reporters once the locker room was open to the media.

Diggs had five total tackles Sunday night, which was his best performance in more than a month. He has 23 total tackles and one interception this season, his fifth with the team.

The Cowboys fell to 3-4 with Sunday's loss. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw two interceptions, marking his third straight game with multiple picks. Dallas also just had a bye week after a 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions two weeks ago.

The Cowboys face the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday (1 p.m. ET, Fox).

Regardless of whether Diggs missed his coverage of this play or not, the mood in the Cowboys' locker room appears to be about as low as it has been in recent years. Diggs' reaction on Sunday night is a perfect example of this.
