Clairo plays a “special” home show

Singer-songwriter Clairo is at Roadrunner in Boston for three days and greeted the first sold-out crowd with lots of love for her hometown.

“Boston, this means a lot to me, thank you for coming,” she said during the show. “I need you to know how special this is to me. I’m from here.”

Clairo is currently on the Charm Tour for her third studio album with her signature mellow music and spent three nights in Boston from October 28th to 30th, giving her time to visit the Franklin Park Zoo and spend time with her sister spend was in the crowd.

Their songs may be slow, but Clairo had a lot of fun in the city and said before her last two songs, “It's so much fun to play for Boston.”

Is Clairo from Boston?

Technically no – the singer was born Claire Cottrill in Atlanta, Georgia. However, she told the crowd, she grew up in suburban Carlisle and attended both middle and high school there.

Clairo considers Boston her home and sings about growing up in the city in songs like “Alewife.” In 2021, she returned to the state and purchased a five-acre rural property with a barn and well.
