Carlo Ancelotti reminds Barcelona of 2022 glory after 4-0 defeat in El Clasico

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti gave a quick history lesson after their 4-0 El Clasico defeat to Barcelona.

Los Blancos were left in complete shock after the final whistle as Barcelona secured their first league win since 2022 in the Spanish capital.

Four second-half goals did the damage for the hosts as Ancelotti was left frustrated on the sideline after the final whistle.

The veteran coach played down a clash with a Barcelona coaching staff as he stormed through the tunnel after the fourth goal.

However, when the dust settled at the end of the game, Ancelotti had a clear message about his planned response.

Barcelona's last win in Madrid came with a 4-0 win in March 2022, but Real Madrid were still aiming for the La Liga title and beat Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final in Paris.

“The result does not reflect what happened. “They deserved to win, but it was a close game until the first goal,” he said.

“We have to learn from it. Self-criticism is fundamental. But we don't throw everything in the trash – our first half was good.

“The last time we lost 4-0 at home to Barcelona, ​​we won La Liga and the Champions League. We won’t stop fighting.”

Ancelotti's words will be put to the test when Real Madrid return to La Liga next weekend away to Valencia on November 2nd.
