Caitlin Clark sends emphatic two-word message about Fever's hiring of Stephanie White

After what seemed like weeks of endless speculation, it is now official: the Indiana Fever have hired Stephanie White as their next head coach.

This is a huge acquisition for the Fever as White is widely considered one of the best and most respected head coaches in the women's basketball community. Not only is she respected by her teammates and colleagues around the league, but current WNBA players have given White their flowers in the past.

One of those players is Fever icon Caitlin Clark, who said of White during a Fever press conference earlier this year, “She obviously called a lot of my plays throughout college, and I just think she has a really great basketball mind.” .

“I think she's done a great job in the college games…Honestly, she's a trailblazer. “I think she was always someone who supported my game and was fun to talk to at shootouts,” Clark continued.

And it didn't take long for Clark to send a strong message about the Fever and take to social media to announce the hiring of whites.

In a comment on Fever's Instagram post announcing White's acquisition, Clark wrote, “Fevvvvv shooowwwwwww.”

The way Clark ran Indiana's offense the next season reminded many basketball fans of how Magic Johnson ran the legendary “Showtime Lakers” teams of the 1980s. Perhaps Clark's “Fev(er) Show” statement is a sign that the franchise will have the same success as the legendary Lakers teams.

With White considered a defensive master, her inclusion can transform the Fever from an offensive juggernaut into a versatile, perennial WNBA Championship contender.
