BYU is enjoying an 8-0 record heading into the bye week, but there was still good news on the recruiting trail. Lone Peak offensive lineman Austin Pay announced his commitment to BYU on Saturday afternoon, and nearly an hour later, Bishop Gorman offensive lineman Alai Kalaniuvalu changed his commitment from Oregon to BYU.

Austin Pay, both 2025 recruits, is rated 4 stars by Rivals and Alai is rated 4 stars by 247, Rivals and ESPN. Pay chose BYU over fellow finalists Oregon and Oklahoma. Austin's brothers Connor and Trevor are current players for BYU and his father Garry also played offensive line for BYU. Standing at 6-foot-1, 300 pounds, he has great size for an offensive tackle. He's likely aiming for that position in college and is a four-year starter for Lone Peak.

Alai is a Provo native and began his high school career at Timpview HS before heading to Vegas to play at Gorman. Alai is 6'2″ tall and weighs 300 lbs. and plays center for Bishop Gorman. He is a physical run blocker and will likely play on the interior of the offensive line at BYU.

Jeff Hansen of 247 Sports reports that both Alai and Austin plan to serve LDS missions before enrolling at BYU.

BYU now has 18 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class, including 4 offensive linemen. According to 247 Sports' ratings, Pay and Kalaniuvalu are the two highest-rated commitments in BYU's class.
