By the numbers: Week 8 in Washington

Punts landed by Tory Taylor inside the 20, the most by a Bears punter since Brad Maynard also had five on Nov. 30, 2008, in a 34-14 loss to the Vikings in Minnesota. Four of Taylor's punts landed inside the 10, giving him eight this season, the second-most in the NFL. Additionally, his 68-yard punt on Sunday was a career high, surpassing his 66-yard punt on September 29 in a 24-18 win over the Rams.

Touchdowns allowed by the Bears on Washington's three red zone possessions. The defense forced the Commanders to settle for three short field goals after reaching 7, 7 and 9. The Bears lead the NFL in red zone defense after allowing TDs on just 36.8% of possessions (7 of 19) inside their 20.

The points allowed by the Bears are the fewest the Commanders have scored in eight games this season. Washington entered Week 8 averaging 31.1 points per game, tied for the NFL lead with the Ravens.

In consecutive games, the Bears have held their opponents to 21 points or fewer, the longest active streak in the NFL. It's the longest streak for the Bears since they defeated 16 consecutive opponents by 21 points or fewer in 1993-94.

Yards gained by DeAndre Carter on three kickoff returns, his most in a game since Dec. 4, 2022, when he had 89 yards on five returns as a member of the Chargers in a 27-20 loss to the Raiders.
