“Bruins Legends share call from Jack Edwards' favorite long-time franchise voice”

As the voice of the Boston Bruins, Jack Edwards made some iconic calls, such as “This building is vibrating” or “The Bruins are lionhearted” and many others.

Bruins legend Patrice Bergeron shared his favorite call from the equally legendary broadcaster.

“2013, Game 7, against Toronto in the first round. The goal in overtime,” Bergeron told NESN. “That’s definitely one I’ll remember the most. Pretty impressive improvisation. I don't know how he came up with that. But it was something I’ll never forget about him.”

Tuukka Rask, the franchise's all-time winningest goaltender, agreed with his former teammate that his favorite play call was the overtime win in 2013, but Edwards gave the goaltender a special tribute.

“I think the favorite call is pretty easy,” Rask told NESN. “The ‘Two Us, Two Ks, Two Dots.’ People still come up to me and refer to that.”

Edwards and his longtime Bruins broadcast partner Andy Brickley had a friendship that went beyond “high above the ice” at TD Garden or on the road. Brickley shared his fondest memory of Edwards, going back 13 years.

“What I will cherish is what I saw on the duck boat. “Stanley Cup parade in June 2011,” Brickley said. “Just watching you and the look on your face of fulfillment, pure emotional joy at a dream come true, and beyond that, the outpouring of affection, appreciation and gratitude that the Bruins fans expressed directly to you.” That was something unique. That was something special. And it’s burned into my memory forever.”

The Bruins and NESN will celebrate Edwards during the Black and Gold's game against the Seattle Kraken on Sunday night at TD Garden.

Edwards announced his retirement from NESN in April after 19 years as the Bruins' play-by-play broadcaster.
