Brady Cook suffers a non-contact injury while passing against Auburn

1 minute, 48 seconds Read

Brady Cook is the leader of the Mizzou offense. He has struggled at times this year, but the Tigers have posted a 5-1 record in six games.

However, it looks like Mizzou will be without Cook for the remainder of today's game against Auburn. On the Tigers' first possession, Cook dropped back to pass when he slipped and fell to the ground.

Here's a look at Cook going to the ground and then running off the field in clear and obvious pain:

Obviously this doesn't look good. And Cook was a warrior during his time at Mizzou, so he'd really have to get hurt to get out of the game.

Cook had a QB run earlier on the ball, which may have led to the injury. Cook went to the locker room for further evaluation, but no news had been mentioned on the broadcast until midway through the first quarter.

This is certainly something you should monitor throughout the day. And if he's out during the day, we'll see how long Cook is out. The Mizzou offense will be led by transfer QB Drew Pyne for now.

Pyne managed to gain a few yards on his first pass attempt, which led to a 51-yard field goal on the Tigers' first drive.

UPDATE: The ESPN broadcast team said it was Cook's ankle injury. He has it taped up and is expected to return to the game. Meanwhile, Pyne continues to lead the Tiger offense.
