Bowling Green defeats St. Xavier; CAL rolls to victory

Deuce Bailey threw three touchdown passes to lead the Bowling Green High School football team to a 26-9 win at St. Xavier on Friday.

Trevy Barber caught two of the touchdown passes to help the Purples (8-2) – ranked No. 3 in Class 5A – win over St. X for the first time since 2020. The Tigers had won the three previous meetings.

Bailey's 26-yard touchdown pass to Barber gave Bowling Green a 26-3 lead with 8:00 left in the third quarter.

Mason Trimble's 42-yard pass to Marlon Harbin with 5:25 left in the third quarter gave the Tigers their only touchdown.

St. X – ranked No. 4 in Class 6A – fell to 6-4.

Colin Daniels threw a school record six touchdown passes – including the game-winner to Gray Schmittel with 25 seconds left – to give the host Mustangs (8-2) a victory over the Colonels (6-4).

Daniels completed 27 of 37 passes for 358 yards. Schmittel had 11 catches for 173 yards and four touchdowns.

Oldham County quarterback Derek Dees threw two touchdown passes to Jackson Martin, including a 2-yarder that made it 35-3 with 2:28 left.

Connor Hodge passed for 303 yards and four touchdowns to lead the host Centurions (7-3) over the Tigers (5-5).

Hodge completed 22 of 30 passes and threw touchdowns to Trey Cotton (two), Stone Perkins and Gaines Howard. Cotton had 10 catches for 130 yards.

CAL's Man Robinson added an 18-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Fern Creek, which managed 83 yards on offense, took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on a 20-yard field goal by Patrick Carr. Carr also had three receptions for 55 yards.

Joseph Davies' 25-yard field goal with 59 seconds left gave the Bulldogs (2:7) the victory over the host Eagles (3:7).

Trailing 28-10 at halftime, Eastern took a 29-28 lead with 6:54 left after Zane Wagner sent a 42-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Wagner.

Paul Dunbar quarterback Dominic Faulkner rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns and also passed for a score.

Zane Wagner completed 19 of 30 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns. Nathan Wagner had five catches for 114 yards and two scores.

Luke Ballard rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Warhawks (7-3) over the host Titans (5-5).

Great Crossing quarterback Jeremiah Clark threw three short touchdown passes: 9 yards to Hunter Moody, 12 yards to Javontae Dean and 17 yards to Julez Hill.

Collins quarterback Kade Goodin completed 11 of 20 passes for 108 yards and also rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown. Aviyan Delaney had eight catches for 72 yards.

AJ Lee passed for 256 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for the score to give the Cougars (2-8) the lead over the host Chargers (5-5) on Wednesday.

Lee completed 21 of 38 passes, including a touchdown connection with Nate Tomes. Michael Anderson had eight catches for 137 yards.
