Hours before voting calls and predictions about who would win the 2024 U.S. presidential election cycle, memes about the choice between Game of Thrones and “Game of Thrones” exploded on social media. Memes with the caption: “Tell Kamala. “I want her to know it was me,” Olenna repeated in the hit series, her last message to Cersei Lannister before her death. The popular meme that made Donald Trump fans laugh turned the tables because the same pop culture-inspired reference alluded to the Republican leader's defeat in the 2020 election four years ago.

Joe Biden Game of Thrones meme becomes a popular hit

Blaze Media conservative digital strategist Logan Hall was among the first to dig the meme back from the archives, tagging Joe Biden in Ornella's post as he called out Kamala Harris ahead of her expected loss in the 2024 election. The Biden-Harris meme gained particular prominence on social media after initial reports suggested Biden sat out his former vice presidential partner's election night party. A White House official told the Washington Examiner: “Tonight, the President and First Lady, along with longtime advisers and senior White House aides, will watch the election results at the White House Residence.”

Origins of the “Tell Kamala” meme.

This announcement fuels the fire that is the alleged rift between Harris and Biden. Their professional relationship appeared to be strained during this election cycle, as the 81-year-old Democrat was reportedly ousted from his re-election bid earlier this year. Although he initially endorsed Kamala Harris after he left the race, Biden has done little to support her since then. Additionally, the former US president donned a Trump 2024 hat during a 9/11 commemoration event in September, once again sparking a series of jokes and memes about how he had “supported” Trump as president.

“He totally voted for Trump after they put him in a coup,” one user wrote online. Others made fun of his age, saying, “It'll be after 4 p.m. He can't make it,” or it was “past his bedtime.”

Either way, Logan Hall's Biden-GOT crossover meme seemed to have won over the internet. At the time of writing, the tweet has been viewed over 2.5 million times and has been hailed as the “golden meme of the night” by netizens.

What if Biden was still pursuing his bid for a second term?

These memes popped up on social media just in time as a new YouGov poll sparked a “what if” that the 46th POTUS would have performed against Donald Trump if he had never dropped out of the race. Although the MAGA leader officially trumped Harris in the race, the YouGov poll suggested she was still a better replacement.

Only 41% of poll respondents out of a total sample of 1,103 citizens said they supported Biden's candidacy for a second term. Meanwhile, a majority of 48% supported Trump in the speculative poll. This first popularity poll saw Harris gain over Trump, with 49% preferring her instead. Additionally, the share of “not sure” or “wouldn’t vote” responses was 8% for the Biden-Trump contest, more than double the 3% who said the same for Harris vs. Trump.
