Barbara Corcoran says you still have a month to buy a house

Barbara Corcoran still believes now is the “best time” to buy a home. But you only have a month.

The real estate expert and “Shark Tank” star posted a warning on Instagram Thursday for people waiting to get into the real estate market.

“I’m here to tell you that you have a month to buy a house,” Corcoran said in the video. “A month!”

Corcoran noted that when the Fed cut rates, everyone expected mortgage rates to follow, but that hasn't happened yet. In fact, they have risen, driving many buyers out of the market.

“Everyone has moved to the sidelines,” she added, “and is taking a wait-and-see attitude.”

The “uncertainty in the market” is caused by a lack of inventory, persistent inflation, high interest rates and the upcoming election, causing many potential buyers to give up on their dreams of buying a home. However, she said this is the time to “find the best deals” because there will be “someone out there who will accept an offer because they too are unsure.”

“If you plan to wait a year and see how interest rates go, you’re crazy,” she added. “There aren’t enough houses.”

She also pointed out that prices will increase by another 5%, like this year.
