Army QB Bryson Daily is out for a Service Academy game against Air Force

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Army quarterback Bryson Daily I missed Saturday Service Academy game against Air Force with an injury or illness.

Army coach Jeff Monken did not comment on Daily's injury or illness in his postgame press conference the Black Knights' 20-3 victory.

Monken said he hopes Daily can play in North Texas next Saturday and indicated his absence would not be long-term.

I missed training every day this week. He wasn't at the game, but Monken said Daily was on duty Saturday.

“He wanted to be a part of it, but he doesn't know how big a part he was today. The confidence he gave this football team to play like we do today is based on the success we had with him as our quarterback,” Monken said. “He will get well and play again.”

Daily has led Army to a 7-0 record and a No. 21 ranking. The two-year starter was the FBS leader in rushing touchdowns with 19 starts this week.

Junior Dewayne Coleman made his first start for the Black Knights. Coleman rushed for 42 yards and completed 5 of 8 for 48 yards.

Daily, who leads Army with 909 rushing yards, was named the Manning Award quarterback of the week after having a five-touchdown rushing game in the team's final game. a 45-28 win over East Carolina.
