Arkansas releases first availability report for LSU game

1 minute, 48 seconds Read

The Arkansas Razorbacks are preparing for a big conference game with the No. 8 LSU Tigers in Week 8.

The Razorbacks are coming off a bye week after upsetting Tennessee in Week 6. The team is now in prime position to pull off another upset, and fans hoping for that result received good news on Wednesday.

SEC teams are required to release an availability report every Wednesday before a game. The Razorbacks' first report for Week 8 is more notable because of who it is not listed, and not who is.

Quarterback Taylen Green is not on the report, which appears to indicate his readiness to play. The QB suffered an injury against Tennessee, but the team hoped the bye week would allow Green to return for Week 8.

Interestingly, Sam Pittman made some comments earlier on Wednesday that seemed to indicate that Green's status was a little more uncertain.

“(Taylen is) not at full speed yet, but we definitely think there’s a possibility he can do it,” Pittman said. “We’ll have to wait and see. We still have two more exercises and a walk, but he’s encouraged by his progress.”

Nonetheless, Green's omission from Wednesday's report would seemingly suggest we'll see the dual-threat QB on Saturday.

Green was successful for the Razorbacks in 2024. The former Boise State passer threw for 1,502 yards with 5 touchdowns. Green also gained 326 rushing yards this season.

Arkansas currently only has 2 players listed on the availability report. Defensive back Jaylen Braxton is listed as out, while running back Rodney Hill is listed as doubtful.

The Razorbacks and Tigers will square off at Razorback Stadium on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
