Arizona Senate race: Lake and Gallego await results as vote counting continues

As Voices are being counted, the candidates for the US Senate, Kari Lake and Rep. Ruben Gallego, are waiting Results.

Lake is a Trump-backed GOP candidate and former television host who ran for governor of Arizona in 2022 but lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs. Rep. Gallego is a Democratic Congressman and veteran who currently represents District 3.

Survey from various sources shows the head-to-head race between the two.

On the eve of Election Day, Rep. Gallego said She fought throughout the valley and lake and reached Prescott for a final rally.

Representative Ruben Gallego gave a speech to his supporters on the evening of Election Day in which he said he was the “future” US Senator representing the state of Arizona.

He leads Lake in early voting, which consisted of mail-in ballots received and counted before Election Day and about half of the total expected votes. Gallego expressed confidence as he spoke to Democrats in Phoenix on Tuesday evening.

“We had a mantra in this campaign: Go everywhere and talk to everyone,” Gallego said. “And that’s exactly what we did. We didn’t take any voice for granted.”

In a break from tradition, Lake and the Arizona Republican Party did not host an election night party. In the hours after the polls closed, her normally active social media accounts remained quiet.

She eventually posted on social media and said not to believe the mainstream media when they call these races.

The winner of the Senate race will replace Kyrsten Sinema.

Even though it was election day, Rep. Ruben Gallego didn't waste the day waiting for votes, but instead met with voters. FOX 10's Steve Nielsen reports the latest on the Arizona Senate race.
