Hanifin scores twice in the third period to lift the Golden Knights past the Oilers

Jack Eichel had a goal and two assists and Ivan Barbashev had three assists for the Golden Knights (9-3-1), who have won six of seven. Adin Hill made 27 saves.

Brett Kulak and Zach Hyman scored for the Oilers (6-7-1), who had won two of three games. Stuart Skinner made 31 saves while Connor McDavid went pointless in his comeback after missing the last three games with an ankle injury.

Eichel gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead at 16:05 of the first period after he was sent in on a breakaway by Shea Theodore before pulling back on his forehand and dumping the puck past Skinner's left pad.

Kulak tied the game at 1-1 at 12:18 of the second period by redirecting a one-timer from Darnell Nurse's point past Hill's left shoulder.

Hyman gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead at 15:56 by following the puck over the boards behind the Vegas net before unexpectedly bouncing toward him over Hill's right creel and putting it in play.

Hanifin evened the score at 2-2 at 10:05 of the third period by sending a low-point shot past Skinner on the power play.

With 49 seconds left, Hanifin took a cross-ice pass from Barbashev in the slot and sent the puck past Skinner's glove.

Mark Stone scored his sixth goal of the season into an empty net with five seconds left.

With 7:56 left in the third period, Oilers defenseman Troy Stecher limped to the Oilers bench and was taken to the locker room after blocking a shot.
