Who is Lara Trump, Donald's “new right-hand woman”?

Donald Trump took to the podium on Wednesday to address the world after being elected to a second term as president of the United States.

Among the family members, which included his wife Melania, was another glamorous blonde lady, his daughter-in-law Lara Trump.

The 42-year-old proudly watched as Trump announced his victory over former Vice President Kamala Harris. So who is this new face that will reportedly play a major role on Trump's team?

What is Lara's relationship with Donald Trump?

Lara is married to the newly elected president's son, Eric. The couple tied the knot in Palm Beach, Florida in 2014, choosing the exact location where Donald and Melania got married.

They met six years earlier through mutual friends and fell in love over the course of a few months. She had previously said that she did not know who her future husband's family was.

“When I first met Eric, I didn't know who his father was,” she recalled on her podcast The right view. “I didn’t know his last name at first. All I knew was that I met a really tall guy outside.' And the rest is history!

She currently hosts the podcast and is heavily involved in her father-in-law's political campaign.

Family life

Eric and Laura have two children together: Eric Luke, who is seven years old, and Carolina Dorothy, who is five years old.

Lara told The Conservateur: “I never imagined that my old self before children would feel as empowered in femininity as a mother,” she said. “It's the ultimate feminist move to let a human being grow inside their body, push it out and nurture them.”

The family of four lives in Westchester, a 45-minute drive from New York City.

career

Like Donald, Lara has experienced many career changes in her life. After graduating from high school, she graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in communications. She then trained as a pastry chef at the French Culinary Institute in New York.

When she first met Eric, she had changed careers again and was working as a television producer on the news show Inside Edition. She stepped down from that role and became an adviser to her father-in-law's 2016 presidential campaign.

“When they cover your family on the show you work for, it’s a bit of a challenge. We've managed to keep everything pretty balanced throughout, but it's definitely nice not having to worry about it every day,” she told Port City Daily at the time.

She also has Fox News on her resume, having worked as a contributor for the channel until 2022.

Lara has campaigned tirelessly for Donald in recent months and is expected to replace her sister-in-law Ivanka as his right-hand woman over the course of his four-year presidency.
