Whoopi Goldberg says she still won't “say his name” while discussing the election on “The View.”

NEW YORK CITY (TNND) — “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg said Wednesday, while discussing the Election Day results, that she still refuses to say “his name.”

The hosts of “The View” have been unwavering in their support of Vice President Kamala Harris throughout her campaign. Still, Goldberg said the show never explicitly told Americans who to vote for.

“We told people, 'Vote,'” she said. “We didn’t tell them who to vote for. We just said go out and vote.”

She continued, acknowledging the brevity of Harris' campaign and how much excitement she was able to generate among Democrats. She said this did not carry over to the polls.

People didn’t even come out, I don’t know why, and it doesn’t matter,” Goldberg said. “He’s president now, I still won’t say his name. That won’t change.”

The remarks drew applause from the studio audience.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin added that there were a number of “good, decent people” who didn't vote for Harris, giving her a reason to be hopeful about the country's future.

“It’s difficult for some of us to hear that rhetoric 50 or 70 years later,” Goldberg said. “Hearing this makes me feel OK being mad at someone who treats someone else badly. That’s fine with me.”

“What I don’t agree with is the attempt to further destroy the country,” she added.

Goldberg suggested Monday that former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., could have served as attorney general if Harris had won the election. Cheney shook her head when the co-host made the suggestion.

“I would feel much more comfortable if you were running the FBI, the CIA, the NBC, the LMNOP, everyone else,” Goldberg said. “I put it out into the universe because that’s how we do things.”
