Melania Trump shares proud moment as 18-year-old son Barron votes for the first time

Former President Donald Trump was re-elected president on Wednesday with the help of his biggest supporters: his family.

Barron Trump, one of Trump's five children, voted for the first time. The 18-year-old cast his vote in Florida while his mother, First Lady Melania Trump, shared a photo of him at a polling station.

“Voted for the first time – for his father!” wrote Melania in a post on X. She added the hashtags “#18yearsold”, “#presidentialelection” and “#proud”.

Trump's wife and son were at his side as the Republican gave his victory speech early Wednesday morning. Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in an ahistoric comeback, with Trump securing several battleground states and giving him the 270 electoral votes needed to win.

“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president – ​​and your 45th president,” he said. “Every citizen, I will fight for you, your family and your future. I will fight for you every single day and with every breath in my body. I will not rest until we create the strong, safe and prosperous America.” Our children deserve it and you deserve it. This will truly be America's golden age.

Harris, meanwhile, has yet to concede a goal.

She also failed to address her supporters at Howard University in Washington, DC after the results were announced. Instead, her campaign manager told them she would not be speaking.

Investors are betting on what Trump's return to the White House will mean for the economy and the world.

The Dow jumped 1,200 points, or 2.8%, early Wednesday, and major stocks like Elon Musk's Tesla and Bitcoin surged.

Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind the Truth Social platform, also gained.
