Restaurant 99 is closing its doors at the Holyoke Mall

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A New England chain restaurant has closed its doors at the Holyoke Mall.

Ninety-Nine was located on the upper level outside of Macy's. A sign on the now empty restaurant reads, “Thank you for your patronage!” Our Holyoke location is closed. Please visit us in Chicopee, West Springfield and Springfield.”

A spokesman for Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub said the location closed Aug. 25. Kara Jacobs, president and chief financial officer of Ninety-Nine, sent 22News the following statement:

“It is always a difficult decision to close a store, but due to various factors, including the fact that our lease had expired, we have decided to close our location at 50 Holyoke Street effective August 25th.

We sincerely thank our loyal guests who have visited us at this location and encourage them to dine with us at any of our other restaurants in the Northeast, including our locations in nearby Springfield, MA (1371 Liberty Street), West Springfield, MA ( 1053). Riverdale Street), Chicopee, MA (555 Memorial Drive) and Westfield, MA (342 East Main Street).

We are also very grateful to our operational team for their excellent work. We are working with our team members to either relocate them to other branches and/or assist them in their job search in any way possible, including offering them severance.

Ninety Nine was and remains a proud part of the New England and New York casual dining landscape. Closing this one location does not change our interest and commitment to this part of the country.”

Holyoke Mall offers over 20 places to eat. Recent openings include:

Terra Nossa Brazilian Grilla Brazilian BBQ that includes rotisserie meats, Brazilian favorites Coxinha and Pastel, specialty drinks, desserts and newer dishes. You are in the food court.

Milkshake loversHandcrafted Brazilian açaí milkshakes and smoothies made with fresh ingredients are open on the lower level near Hobby Lobby.

Monsoon Bistroa Southeast Asian restaurant, opened its doors in January in the former Ruby Tuesday space at Holyoke Mall. They are locally owned and offer traditional Chinese and Thai dishes like dim sum, drunken noodles, mango chicken, red curry fish and more.

According to the Holyoke Mall website, Cho's Fish & Chips coming soon to the food court!
