As former President Donald Trump's vote total climbs past 230, Kamala Harris' campaign remains “optimistic” that a path to victory is still possible.

PBS News Hour's Laura Barrón-López reported live from the Harris Watch Party at Howard University that campaign sources see a path to 270, with the vice president hoping to take the “blue wall” states, including Wisconsin and Michigan .

“Nobody thinks about 'Ghosts of 2016,'” Barrón-López said. “I texted with a Democratic House member in Nevada, they are extremely confident that Harris will win Nevada.”

Harris also won Nebraska's 2nd District, worth one electoral vote. Barrón-López said the vote in Nebraska plus the Blue Wall and Nevada equaled a victory.

Barrón-López said some of her campaign sources said they were “a little nervous” but were trying to convey calm to campaign supporters.

(The campaign aims to) “remind people here what it was like in 2020, when at that point it looked like some of these states were going to favor Donald Trump, and it didn't take until Wednesday and beyond for things to settle down.” for the Democrats began to change,” Barrón-López said.
