Ravens acquire All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White in trade with Rams: reports

2 minutes, 15 seconds Read

The Baltimore Ravens addressed a major need at the NFL trade deadline, acquiring Los Angeles Rams cornerback Tre'Davious White on Tuesday before 4 p.m.

The Ravens have the worst pass defense in the NFL, allowing 280.9 yards per game through the air.

Given the team's astounding offensive productivity and 6-3 record, the Ravens, hoping to make the playoffs this season, bolstered their secondary with White, a former All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowl corner.

According to multiple reports, the Rams will receive a 2026 seventh-round pick while sending White and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Baltimore.

Why such a low price for someone who was an All-Pro? Well, White has been inactive for the last four games as the Rams gave him permission to talk to other teams about a trade.

LION ADD PRO BOWLER ZA'DARIUS SMITH IN TRADE WITH BROWNS: REPORT

White and his representatives knew something had to be done by Tuesday's deadline, but teams weren't going to pay a high price for someone who has played four games this season while also having a lengthy injury history.

Injuries have affected White's performance in recent seasons, as he suffered a torn Achilles tendon last season while with the Buffalo Bills.

The 29-year-old played in just four games last season and just six games in 2022, leaving Buffalo with no choice but to let its first-round pick from the 2017 NFL Draft pass before this year.

The last time White was healthy for a full season, he was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2019 and had six interceptions with 17 passes defended, two forced fumbles and 58 combined tackles in 15 games for Buffalo.

His second consecutive Pro Bowl season followed in 2020 with three picks, 11 passes defended and 1.5 sacks for the Bills.

The Rams were hoping White could be healthy and give them a boost in the secondary this season, but the fit was never there. Maybe White can get back to his old ways with Baltimore.
