Wait times varied early Tuesday at polling places across central Indiana as Hoosiers headed to the polls.

Today, voters across Indiana will elect their next governor and attorney general. They will also weigh in on who will be the next president of the United States, among other races on the ballot in the general election.

How to check waiting times at polling stations

According to the organization's website, local technology company IN Tech for Progress has developed an app that provides the public with real-time information about wait times at polling places.

IN Tech for Progress started IndyVoteTimes.org in Marion County and has since expanded to four other counties: Allen, Boone, Hamilton and Vigo. According to the group's website, it is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization.

How long are the wait times at the polls in Indianapolis?

As of 10 a.m. on Election Day, IndyVoteTimes.org said wait times at various centers throughout Marion County ranged from three minutes to about an hour and a half. Voters registered in Marion County may visit any vote center.

When does voting end on Election Day?

The polling stations are open until 6 p.m., and those whose turn it is until 6 p.m. can vote.

Do I have to vote at my polling station?

According to vote.indy.gov, all registered voters living in Marion County can go to any voting center on Election Day to cast their ballot. In some counties, voters must use their address to find out where their polling place is.
