Election Day is just around the corner and while most people will be primarily focused on getting to their polling place and casting their vote, many people will also be trying to run everyday errands like cleaning or picking up laundry at the bank go.

Although Election Day is not a federal holiday, it is observed as a holiday in some states. Most state offices are closed that day and 24 state offices and the District of Columbia offer paid time off to vote. Other states offer time off to vote, but without pay.

Although the day is not a federal holiday, many people are wondering whether banks, post offices and shipping services will be open on Election Day. Here's what we know.

Are banks open on election day?

Bank of America, Truist, PNC, Capital One, Wells Fargo and other bank branches will be open during their regular hours on Tuesday, November 5th.

Other banking services such as ATMs and online banking should also be available as usual on election day.

Is the post office open on election day? Will the mail be delivered?

Yes, post offices will be open and mail will be delivered on Tuesday as Election Day is not a federal holiday.

Are shipping services like UPS and FedEx open on Election Day?

Yes, UPS and FedEx pickup and delivery services will be available on Election Day and their stores will also be open.
